Patient and Family Bill of Rights

Being a valued patient of Wellness Doctor Home Health Care, you and your family have the following Responsibilities:

  1. Receive a written copy of the Patient and Family Bill of Rights from the Wellness Doctor Home Health Care Medical staff visiting you or from the 24×7 Call Center and Customer Relations Department. If for any reason you do not understand them, please contact our staff or Call Telephone or WhatsApp +971 52 967 7051 and ask for help, including interpretation if you want to be explained in a different language.
  2. Receive impartial care with dignity and respect without discrimination, respecting your values and religious beliefs.
  3. This care shall be subject to availability, without interfering with other patient’s safety and the work environment, and without contradiction with Wellness Doctor Home Health Care Rules & Regulations.
  4. Receive comprehensive medical care with the aim of reaching proper medical diagnosis and treatment of your illness and/or injury.
  5. Receive immediate emergency care, whenever needed, with no delay as per the scope of care provided by Wellness Doctor Home Health Care. For life threatening emergencies, our Call Center shall direct and assist you to call for the DCAS Ambulance (998). If our Medial Team is onsite and identification of a medical emergency is done, then they shall provide Basic Life Support and call for an ambulance.
  6. Know the identity (Name & Specialty) of the physician and/ or other healthcare practitioners responsible for your care
  7. Receive from the healthcare team in a simple and understandable manner, comprehensive information about your diagnosis, proposed treatment, any changes in your health status and the cause of such changes, alternative treatment, probabilities of treatment success or failure, therapy advantages and disadvantages (if any), possible problems related to treatment and expected results of ignoring the treatment.
  8. Have an interpreter (upon availability) if the language presents a barrier in understanding details of your comprehensive medical care and the treatment provided to you.
  9. You have the right to have a person of your own sex present during certain parts of a physical examination, treatment or procedure performed by a health professional of the opposite sex and the right to not remain disrobed any longer than is required for accomplishing the medical purpose for which disrobing was needed.
  10. Participate in your care decision-making Wellness Doctor Home Health Care encourages patients, parents or legal guardians, to the extent they wish, to participate in planning and implementing treatment together with nurses and physicians.
  11. Obtain a medical report and a copy of medical test results from the Medical Records Section (upon your request) at no charges.
  12. Enjoy privacy while Wellness Doctor Home Health Care medical team carries out all examinations, procedures and treatments and the confidentiality of all your information
  13. Choose the treating doctor (depending on availability) in addition to reject him /her upon furnishing a genuine reason
  14. While booking a home consultation our Customer Care team will ask for your preference of Gender and Language of the treating doctor and try their best to meet your request.
  15. Refuse the treatment (if you wish so). Thus, the treating doctor must inform you of the medical consequences of your refusal. Accordingly, you will sign a form prepared to that effect.
  16. Refuse examination or observation or access to your treatment details by any person not directly responsible for your care. Persons who are not directly involved in your treatment must have prior permission to attend your case discussion, examination and treatment.
  17. Be protected during treatment from physical, verbal and psychological assault.
  18. Receive information from the treating doctor (in case you would like to donate any body organ)about donation process including advantages and disadvantages (if any).
  19. Have a family member or guardian as an escort depending on your health status. However in certain situations, this may not be allowed due to medical reasons
  20. Receive complete explanation of the need to be transferred to another care center (should need arise), consequent obligations (financial and administrative, if any) and all reasonable alternatives to such a transfer. Then Wellness Doctor Home Health Care management will take all necessary arrangements to obtain the alternate care center’s (receiving institution) approval to receive the referred patient before starting the transfer process.
  21. Receive upon your request an itemized bill explaining all charges regardless of whether it is paid by you or by another source

  23. View your medical record under the supervision of the treating doctor or a medical team staff
  24. Wellness Doctor Home Health Care respects your right to appropriate assessment and management of pain through evidence-based practices and provides you with all necessary information and education in this regard
  25. You have the right to seek a second opinion about your care without fear of compromise within or outside the organization. (If need, you may be required to pay for the second opinion services).
  26. Wellness Doctor Home Health Care is committed to provide terminally ill and dying patients with decent and compassionate care respecting their unique needs as per laws and regulations of UAE.

Note: Rights of Children, Elderly and Patients not able to practice their rights, will be automatically granted to their families/ guardians.
